Like many people, I used to be extremely anxious about attending social engagements. I would obsess about whether people would like me, if I’d make friends, if I’d fit in, etc.
Often times, I’d try to avoid social situations altogether. I’d always be the friend that couldn’t make it to engagements or at least be the first one out the door.
However, I got tired of being afraid. I realized that socializing is inevitable; and even though I was comfortable alone, my soul desired genuine connections and to build genuine friendships.
So, I decided to make a change and I’m glad to say, I’ve come a long way.
