I used to beat myself up about seemingly everything. I set unrealistic expectations for myself–tried to live up to the image of a person I deemed “good enough”–and when I fell short, I punished myself. Now what really made this twisted was the fact that I subconsciously thought that beating myself up would actually help me! Even though it made me feel awful, I thought I was doing myself a favor; giving myself “tough love”.
This negatively affected the quality of my life. I was unhappy and my self-esteem was getting a beating practically everyday. It took me years to realize that this wasn’t healthy and even longer to learn to quiet my inner-critic.
So now I want to share what I’ve learned with you. In today’s video, I’m giving you some personal advice on how to stop beating yourself up.
Now I’d love to hear from you.
